A Study of Ordered Traces.
The collection A Study of Ordered Traces
takes its inspiration from the photography of Lee Miller.
Through her lens, war is seen not only as conflict but also as a record of order,
remnants and the quiet beginnings of renewal.
From those heavy, deliberate lines and measured spaces, we search for a way to reorder reality.
Stripes, fences, uniforms and pockets,
symbols once tied to discipline, labor and division, are dismantled,
reimagined and stitched together with new intention.
Uniform lines extend into freedom of movement.
Grids once meant to confine are softened into forms of cohesion and protection.
The structure of workwear becomes a vessel
for strength and everyday resolve.
As these symbols are cut apart and reassembled, they no longer define boundaries.
They become pathways through memory, woven into garments that transcend mere structure.
This collection transforms the marks of the past into a new narrative
that carries history yet stands gracefully and firmly in the present.
